Tailor made tours, private guiding & Jeep safaris through the Karakoram, Hindukush and Pamir mountain ranges, at the crossroads of North Pakistan, Afghanistan’s Wakhan Corridor, Tajikistan and Western China.
This area is known as the Pamir Knot.
As a photographer, I’ve been searching for the most beautiful places and people in the Western Himalayas for over 10 years: the Karakoram, Hindukush and Pamir mountainous regions.
Why? I am not sure… some people go meditate in caves, I go walk at high altitude in the lunar landscape of the Western Himalayas. Since 9/11 many of these places are branded with a dangerous and negative image.
Through my images I’ve always wanted to show the other side of the coin, a reality far away from the dramatic headlines, a quest I continue year by year.
As I continue to collect moments in this unique part of the world, I thought now would be a good time to share these experiences with others and decided to offer private, tailor-made guiding to this fairly unknown and highly misconceived region. Through individually tailored tours, I want to share with you a special place that, after all my travels through Asia, still surprises me and brings me back every year for more.
We will find ourselves in Afghanistan, Pakistan or Tajikistan - and while any “stan” certainly sounds frightening these days, I will show you the other side of things: In a few weeks, you might experience more hospitality and kindness than you ever got in your lifetime…
